Behaviour
Swarcliffe Primary School is an inclusive school that meets the needs of a range of children including those with complex backgrounds as well as those with a range of special educational needs (SEND). We have created an inviting environment where all children feel safe, included and keen to learn. Children are nurtured and given opportunities to grow into independent, life-long learners and succeed in our ever changing society.
At Swarcliffe Primary School and Nursery we believe that good behaviour, discipline and mutual respect are essential for the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Our expectations are that all adults will promote and reward positive behaviours but challenge unacceptable behaviours and be consistent when enforcing the school rules with high expectations. We aim to create a culture where children respect all adults whatever their role.
At Swarcliffe Primary we aim to:
- ensure that everyone feels safe, secure, valued, cared for and happy;
- offer a knowledge-rich, engaging and challenging curriculum;
- promote healthy, positive relationships in school and within the community;
- establish high expectations of behaviour which are consistently supported and reinforced by all;
- promote respect and tolerance;
- encourage independence and self-regulation;
- promote a positive partnership between home and school to support and share our aims.
