School Council

Our aim is to make Swarcliffe Primary School a happy place for everyone!

What is the School Council?

A School Council provides a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account in decisions that impact them.

At Swarcliffe Primary School, our school council is a group of children that represents the views of all our pupils. It gives our children the opportunity to have their voices heard and be part of the whole school community. They help to makes decisions about school life and organise activities that support learning and development, such as organising charity events, theme days or representing the school at outside events.

We value the opinions of our pupils and our school council gives pupils a forum to share these opinions with our school council teacher representative, Headteacher and other members of staff.

Our first task as School Council members was to create a Harvest poster to inform children and parents what happens at Swarcliffe Primary School around Harvest time. We decided to collect tins to donate to food banks around the local area. Here are some of our amazing posters.

Children in Need

As part of Children in Need, we asked School Council to create a poster to inform parents about the events that will take place on the day. We decided to 'wear dots and collect lots' by donating £1 for coming to school dressed in spots. We also decided, to host a cake sale where all of the cakes will be made by each class in school.
