Chicks, chicks, chicks!
The eggs have hatched and we are busy looking after our new babies. Photos of us looking after our chicks to follow.
This half term we are busy learning about lots of different minibeasts.
We had a very exciting visit from Morley Exotic Animal Rescue who brought us lots of animals to look at and touch. We saw a skunk, 15 foot python, a monitor lizard, a meer cat, a prairie dog and a tarantula.
We have made a wormery and have been observing them digging their tunnels through the soil. Our very hungry caterpillars have arrived and they are growing every day before our very eyes!
We have been busy reading some Eric Carle books and doing lots of work relating to these. We have read the Bad Tempered Ladybird and we are learning to tell the time. We have also read the Very Hungry Caterpillar and we are making our own nonfiction texts about the lifecycle of a butterfly.
We are now awaiting the arrival of some new friends – more news to follow soon.
This half term we will be learning about Superheros. We will be creating our very own Superhero and describing it, building a Superhero assult course, making Superhero number lines and much, much more. Keep an eye out for photos that will be posted on here in the next couple of weeks.
We will also be learning about Spring and different types of birds that we might see around. This week will be making bird food, which will be messy and fun!
Welcome back and Happy New Year.
This half term we will be learning about knights, dragons, princes and princesses. We will be reading stories and re-enacting them.
We will be learning how write words so other people can read them and we will try to read words more fluently. We will be practising counting up to 20, ordering and recognising numbers.
At the end of January we will be celebrating Chinese New Year – Kung Hei Fat Choy.
Keep your eye on this page as more pictures will be coming soon.
