I have been a dedicated member of the Swarcliffe team for over 6 years now and enjoyed a number of fulfilling roles including my current post as Deputy Headteacher. Being an associate member of the Governing Body has added a new aspect to my role and created further opportunities for me to make a difference. I enjoy and thrive on the challenge that comes with every aspect of school life and am passionate about high quality education with each and every child reaching their full potential. Nothing but the best is good enough for the children of Swarcliffe.
I have been a governor at Swarcliffe Primary since March 2016 and have been Chair of Governors since 2017. As the chair of the governing board my main role is to lead and direct the board of governors to ensure that we function effectively to meet our core functions. These core functions are to ensure clarity of vision in the ethos and strategic direction of the school, to hold the senior leaders to account for the educational performance of the pupils and to make sure our school funds are well spent.
I love meeting and working with all of the children and visit school regularly. Over the last few years I have got to know quite a lot of them!
I am a solicitor by profession but have not worked now for a number of years while I have been raising my own family. I am a mum to two teenage sons.
I have been a dedicated member of the team here at Swarcliffe primary school for over 2 years and enjoyed the fulfilling role of class teacher across key stage 1 and key stage. More recently, I have joined the governing body which has added a new dimension to my role and created further opportunities for me to make a difference. I enjoy and thrive on the challenge that comes with every aspect of school life and am passionate about high quality education and each and every child reaching their full potential.
I am really enjoying my role as a co-opted governor at Swarcliffe Primary School. I am currently the Learning Mentor here and and I am passionate about supporting and nurturing children so that they can reach their full potential. I am really looking forward to working with the Governing Board to see what further opportunities there are to improve children's well-being inside and outside of school.
I am a part-time maths tutor currently doing my teacher training (QTLS). I work for a learning provider based in Leeds city centre and deliver their GCSE and Functional Skills mathematics programmes. I also provide home tuition to students studying for their GCSE in maths and science. I am a great numeracy advocate and feel passionately about raising numeracy standards and reversing the negative views and fears people (of all ages) have about numbers!
I live in a village in North Yorkshire with my husband (who works in IT), our son and cat. I enjoy Pilates, swimming, cycling and long walks pretty much anywhere! I am a member of the village Sports and Social Committee. We meet every couple of months and organise everything and anything from the pensioners’ Christmas party to Viking Festivals.
AS well as being an active member of the FGB, I am chair of the Pupils Support Committee, and a member of the Teaching & Learning Committee. I enjoy my Governor visits and taking time to speak with the pupils and staff.
