At Swarcliffe Primary School and Nursery attendance and punctuality are extremely important to us. Every Day Counts. We believe in supporting a child’s right to be in school to receive their statutory entitlement to education. There is a clear relationship between children’s achievement, behaviour and attendance. As a school we will challenge any attendance under 96% .
This year we have worked hard to improve attendance and punctuality. We have computerised attendance to make monitoring attendance more accessible. If your child is not registered in school you will receive a text message to make you aware you need to contact the school to report an absence.
Every day each child who is in school on time with a smile gets a gold star on their class attendance chart. At the end of the week every child who has a gold star is entered in to a prize draw and can win a prize!
Each class with over 96% can play Dragon's Tail! An exciting 'snakes and ladders' game with dragons. The first class to 100 win a class trip ~ the staff team are very competitive!

Mrs Sanderson and Mrs Harrower monitor all aspects of attendance working in partnership with Leeds City Council Attendance Team. Our Attendance Team regularly inspects our registers and attendance data and very proactive in tackling pupil attendance and punctuality.
