Welcome to our new and exciting Governors page where you can see the people that make up all the different areas of the Governing Body. 

Governors are people who are passionate about the school and are here to make sure that every child is given the best education, opportunities and experiences that the school can give. The Governors work extremely closely with the school and regularly challenge and question to ensure that everyone is working together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be enriched, enhanced and excited. 

 

So Governors .... who are we and what we do?  The Governing Body is not just made up of people who work in school, there are Community Governors, Local Authority governors, Staff Governors and Parents Governors.    At Swarcliffe Primary School all Governors put the needs of the children at the heart of the decisions they make. Governors are involved in any decisions made which affects the school from setting the annual budget to appointing staff to safeguarding not to mention approving all the school policies.  Governors are also involved with sub committees which discuss finance, staffing, budgets, health and safety, school dinners, uniform, to name a few things.    The Governors also work closely with Friends of Swarcliffe and of course the School Council.    All the Governors work extremely hard and happily give up their time because they  are extremely proud of what Swarcliffe Primary School has achieved and this is because of  all the hard working staff and of course of all the children.

 

So now that you can see what we look like and know a little bit about what we do, we all look forward to seeing you around school and or course Governors are always available to speak to you and can be contacted through the school office, although our parent governors can be contacted through their own special email address : swarcliffeparentgov@hotmail.co.uk.
